You can load cash onto your Cash App Card at many participating retail locations across the United States. Prominent retailers include Walmart, Walgreens, CVS Pharmacy, Dollar General, Family Dollar, 7-Eleven, Rite Aid, Kroger, H-E-B, and Speedway. To find the nearest location, use the map feature within the Cash App by navigating to the Banking tab and selecting “Paper Money.”
Bring the physical cash you wish to deposit and your mobile device with the Cash App installed. While the physical Cash App Card is not always required for barcode-based deposits, some retailers might process the deposit by swiping your card. A valid government-issued identification may be requested, especially for larger amounts. A flat processing fee of $1 is typically charged for each paper money deposit transaction. This fee is automatically deducted from the deposited funds, though it can be waived if you receive $300 or more in paycheck direct deposits each month.
Cash App imposes certain limits on paper money deposits. Users can deposit a minimum of $5 per transaction, with a maximum of $500 per single deposit. The total amount of paper money that can be deposited is limited to $1,000 within any rolling 7-day period and $4,000 within any rolling 30-day period.
Performing a Cash Load
To deposit cash onto your Cash App Card, approach the cashier or customer service desk at a participating retail location. Inform them you wish to add money to your Cash App account. Access the Cash App on your mobile device.
From the Cash App home screen, tap on the Banking tab. Next, select the “Paper Money” option. The app will then display a “Show Barcode” option, which generates a unique barcode for your deposit. Present this barcode to the cashier for scanning.
After the barcode is scanned, hand the physical cash to the cashier. The cashier will process the transaction, and funds are typically added to your Cash App balance immediately or within a few minutes. Another convenient method is setting up direct deposit for your paychecks or government benefits. By providing your Cash App direct deposit details to your employer or benefits provider, funds are automatically transferred into your Cash App account. Direct deposits offer higher limits compared to cash loads. Additionally, Cash App users can receive money from other individuals directly through the app, which instantly adds funds to their balance.
