Where Can You Add Cash to a Cash App Card?

Discover everything you need to know about loading funds onto your Cash App Card for seamless use.

A Cash App Card functions as a debit card directly linked to your Cash App balance. It provides a straightforward way to use funds stored within the application for various transactions. This card allows you to make purchases online, in physical stores, and to withdraw cash from ATMs. Its primary purpose is to extend the utility of your Cash App balance beyond digital transfers, integrating it into traditional spending.

Where to Add Cash

Adding physical cash to a Cash App Card is possible at numerous retail locations across the country. Many popular stores facilitate this service, allowing you to load funds directly onto your Cash App balance. This provides a widespread network for converting paper money into digital funds. Participating retailers include:
Walgreens
CVS
Walmart
7-Eleven
Family Dollar
Dollar General
Rite Aid

To find the nearest participating store, use the map in the Cash App’s “Paper Money” or “Banking” section. While most stores allow deposits at a standard cashier, larger establishments like Walmart may direct you to a customer service desk or MoneyCenter for the transaction. This network of retail partners makes it accessible for many to add cash to their Cash App.

How to Add Cash

The process for adding cash to a Cash App Card at a retail location begins within the Cash App itself. Open the application and navigate to the “Banking” tab, usually represented by a bank icon or dollar sign. From there, select the “Paper Money” option to generate a unique barcode. This barcode serves as the identifier for your deposit transaction.

Upon arriving at the chosen retail location, inform the cashier that you wish to add money to your Cash App. The cashier will then require the barcode displayed on your phone to initiate the process. After the barcode is scanned, hand over the desired amount of cash to the cashier. The funds are typically processed instantly and become available in your Cash App balance, ready for immediate use. It is advisable to obtain a receipt from the cashier for your records.

Cash Load Limits and Fees

When adding cash to a Cash App Card at a retail location, certain limits and fees apply. A flat fee of $1 is charged by Cash App for each paper money deposit. This fee is automatically deducted from the amount being deposited; for instance, if $100 is deposited, $99 will appear in your Cash App balance. The minimum amount that can be deposited in a single transaction is $5, while the maximum is $500 per deposit.

Beyond individual transaction limits, there are also cumulative restrictions on paper money deposits. These limits are specific to cash deposits made at retail partners. You can deposit up to $500 per day. There is a rolling limit of $1,000 within any 7-day period and $4,000 within any 30-day period for cash loads. Some retailers may also have their own internal security policies, occasionally requiring identity verification for larger deposits.
