Where Can I Make Navy Federal Deposits?

Your guide to easily depositing funds into your Navy Federal Credit Union account, covering all convenient methods.

Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU) offers members various convenient ways to deposit funds into their accounts. This guide explores the different avenues available for depositing money, providing clear instructions and details to ensure a smooth transaction process.

Depositing at Physical Locations

Members can make deposits directly at any Navy Federal Credit Union branch. To find a nearby branch, use the locator tool on the NFCU website or mobile app. When depositing at a teller, present your account information, a completed deposit slip, and the funds.

Navy Federal also provides deposit options at ATMs. NFCU-owned ATMs accept both cash and check deposits. Cash deposits are often available immediately for withdrawals, while other funds typically become available by the second business day. For broader access, Navy Federal is part of the CO-OP ATM network, allowing deposits at participating CO-OP ATMs. Funds from CO-OP Network ATM deposits may not be available until the fifth business day, and these ATMs typically have a daily deposit limit of $10,000 per card.

Utilizing Digital Deposit Options

Mobile deposit offers a flexible way to deposit checks using the Navy Federal mobile app, eliminating the need for a physical visit. Before depositing, ensure you have the official NFCU mobile app installed and properly endorse the check. Checks should be endorsed with the payee’s signature and the phrase “For Mobile Deposit Only at NFCU.”

Within the app, select the deposit feature, choose the account, and capture clear images of both the front and back of the endorsed check. Enter the deposit amount and confirm the details. Navy Federal typically allows mobile deposits up to $50,000 per business day. Deposits submitted by 6:00 PM ET on a business day are considered received on that same day.

Members can also transfer funds between their own Navy Federal accounts online or through the mobile app. This internal transfer provides an immediate way to move funds, for instance, from a savings account to a checking account. While not a traditional deposit, it serves to make funds accessible within different accounts.

Alternative Deposit Methods

Direct deposit is a convenient method for automatically adding recurring income, such as paychecks or government benefits, to a Navy Federal account. To set it up, provide your employer or payer with Navy Federal’s routing number (256074974) and your specific account number. Funds sent via electronic direct deposit are generally available on the same day Navy Federal receives them.

For checks that cannot be deposited digitally or in person, mail deposits offer another option. Mail checks directly to Navy Federal Credit Union for deposit. Clearly write the account number on the check or include a deposit slip. The mailing address for deposits is PO Box 3100, Merrifield, VA 22119-3100. For security reasons, cash should never be sent through the mail.
