Where Can I Add Cash to a Cash App Card?

Convert your physical cash into a digital balance on your Cash App Card. Find clear, practical steps to add funds securely.

The Cash App Card offers a convenient way to manage funds for daily transactions. Many find it beneficial to add physical cash to their digital balance. This process integrates cash flow directly into a mobile financial platform, enhancing accessibility.

Finding Cash Deposit Locations

Numerous retail partners across the United States facilitate cash deposits to a Cash App balance. Major chains such as Walmart, CVS Pharmacy, Walgreens, 7-Eleven, Dollar General, and Family Dollar are common locations where users can add funds. Many other grocery and convenience stores also participate in the “Paper Money” deposit program. To find the most current and nearest participating locations, use the in-app map feature within the Cash App. This tool provides real-time information, helping users identify a convenient deposit point.

Preparing for Your Cash Deposit

Before visiting a retail location to deposit cash, complete a few preparatory steps within the Cash App. Navigate to the “Banking” tab, then select “Paper Money” to initiate the process. The app will guide you to generate a unique deposit barcode that the cashier will scan. This barcode has a limited validity period, so generate it just before approaching the cashier.

Be aware of deposit limits and associated fees. Cash App allows deposits between $5 and $500 per single transaction, with rolling limits of up to $1,000 every seven days and $4,000 every 30 days. A flat $1 processing fee is charged for each deposit, automatically deducted from the amount. This fee may be waived if you receive $300 or more in paychecks via direct deposit to Cash App each month. For a smooth transaction, have the exact cash amount ready, as cashiers may not provide change.

Completing Your Cash Deposit

Upon arriving at the chosen retail location, proceed to the service desk or a regular checkout lane. Inform the cashier you wish to add funds to your Cash App account using a barcode. Present the generated barcode from your Cash App, along with the cash amount for deposit. The cashier will scan the barcode and accept the cash, processing the transaction.

Request and retain the transaction receipt provided by the retailer for your records. Following a successful deposit, funds are added to your Cash App balance within moments. You will receive an in-app confirmation. In case of a discrepancy or delay, review your transaction history and contact Cash App support with your receipt details.
