What Stores Do Cash App Deposits & How to Do It

Easily add physical money to your Cash App balance. Discover the simple steps to deposit cash at retail locations and manage your funds effectively.

Stores Accepting Cash Deposits

Depositing physical cash into a Cash App account is possible through a network of participating retail stores across the United States. A wide array of popular retailers, including Walmart, Walgreens, CVS Pharmacy, 7-Eleven, Dollar General, and Family Dollar, commonly facilitate these deposits. Many grocery chains and regional stores like Kroger and H-E-B also participate.

To locate a nearby store that offers this service, users can access the in-app map feature within Cash App. This map is found in the “Paper Money” section of the Banking tab, allowing users to find current information for their specific area. Upon arriving at a participating location, users should approach a cashier or the customer service desk to initiate the deposit. Some larger stores, like Walmart, may direct customers to a dedicated MoneyCenter for these transactions.

How to Deposit Cash

Once at a participating retail location, the process for depositing cash into your Cash App account begins within the application itself. First, open the Cash App and navigate to the Banking or Cash tab, then select the “Paper Money” option. This action will prompt the generation of a unique deposit barcode directly on your phone screen. This barcode should be ready when approaching the cashier.

Next, inform the cashier that you wish to add money to your Cash App balance and present the generated barcode for them to scan. Hand over the physical cash amount you intend to deposit to the cashier. The funds will be added to your Cash App balance immediately after the transaction is processed by the retailer. It is advisable to retain the physical receipt provided by the cashier for your records.

Deposit Limits and Fees

Cash App imposes specific limits on cash deposits. Users can deposit a minimum of $5 per transaction, with a maximum limit of $500 for a single deposit. There are also rolling limits applied over longer periods, allowing up to $5,000 within a 7-day rolling period and $10,000 over a 30-day rolling period. These limits are subject to change and may be influenced by security limits set by individual retailers.

A flat-rate processing fee is associated with each cash deposit. Cash App charges a $1 fee per paper money deposit, which is automatically deducted from the funds being deposited. For example, depositing $20 would result in $19 being added to your balance after the fee. Users are encouraged to consult the Cash App’s terms and conditions or the in-app information for the most current details regarding limits and fees.
