What Store Can I Add Money to My Cash App?

Discover how to fund your Cash App account with physical cash. Learn authorized locations and the easy steps for a seamless deposit experience.

Cash App has emerged as a popular mobile payment service, enabling users to manage their funds digitally. Many individuals find it convenient to add physical cash to their Cash App balance, bridging the gap between traditional currency and digital finance. This process allows for seamless integration of paper money into your digital wallet, making it readily available for transactions, sending to others, or using with your Cash App Card.

Stores That Offer Cash Deposits

Many prominent retail chains across the United States facilitate Cash App cash deposits. You can typically find this service at major pharmacies, dollar stores, and large retail outlets.

Common participating retailers include Walgreens, CVS Pharmacy, 7-Eleven, Dollar General, and Family Dollar. Walmart also offers this service, often through their customer service desk or MoneyCenter. It is advisable to confirm availability at your specific location, as participation can vary.

Preparing for Your Deposit

Before heading to a retail location to deposit cash into your Cash App, you will need your mobile device with your Cash App account accessible and logged in. This ensures you can generate the unique digital barcode required for the transaction.

Within the Cash App, navigate to the “Banking” tab, then select “Paper Money” to initiate the deposit process and generate your personalized barcode. Remember to bring the exact amount of physical cash you wish to deposit.

A flat-rate fee of $1 is associated with each paper money deposit, which is deducted directly from the amount you are depositing. This fee is waived if you receive $300 or more in paychecks through direct deposit into your Cash App each month. Cash App imposes limits on these deposits, allowing a minimum of $5 per transaction and a maximum of $500 per single deposit. You can deposit up to $1,000 within a rolling seven-day period and $4,000 within a rolling thirty-day period. Some retailers or larger transaction amounts may require a valid government-issued photo identification for verification.

The Deposit Process

Once you arrive at a participating retail store with your Cash App barcode ready, the deposit process is straightforward. Approach the cashier or the customer service desk and state your intention to add cash to your Cash App account. Some larger stores, like Walmart, may have a dedicated MoneyCenter for these types of transactions.

Present your mobile device with the generated Cash App barcode to the cashier for scanning. This barcode acts as the digital link for your deposit, ensuring the funds are correctly routed to your account. After the barcode is successfully scanned, hand over the physical cash amount you wish to deposit to the cashier.

The funds are added to your Cash App balance instantly once the transaction is completed. Immediately check your Cash App balance on your phone to confirm the deposit. Always request and retain a physical receipt from the cashier for your records.
