What Online Stores Accept Venmo for Payments?

Explore the expanding world of online stores and services that accept Venmo. Simplify your digital shopping experience.

Venmo is a widely used digital payment platform, known for person-to-person money transfers. Its functionality has expanded to include increasing acceptance for online purchases, offering consumers more flexibility in how they complete transactions.

Direct Online Merchants Accepting Venmo

Many online stores and service providers now integrate Venmo as a direct payment option during checkout. Merchants display the Venmo logo alongside other payment methods. Examples include food delivery services, ticketing platforms, and clothing retailers. Platforms like DoorDash, Grubhub, Uber Eats, and Ticketmaster offer Venmo as a direct payment choice.

Well-known retail brands also accept Venmo directly, including Abercrombie & Fitch, Boxed, Forever 21, Foot Locker, Hollister, Hulu, Jane.com, J.Crew, Lululemon, Lyft, Poshmark, Seamless, Uber, and Urban Outfitters. When checking out, customers look for the Venmo payment option. This allows users to pay directly from their Venmo balance or linked funding sources.

Leveraging Venmo Through PayPal

Venmo is part of the PayPal family, which expands its utility for online shopping. If an online store does not explicitly list Venmo as a direct payment option, users can still pay with Venmo by selecting PayPal at checkout. PayPal has integrated Venmo as a payment source within its network.

When a customer chooses PayPal, they may be presented with the option to use their Venmo account balance or linked payment methods. This allows Venmo users to transact with a vast number of online retailers that accept PayPal, including large marketplaces like Amazon and eBay, and smaller online shops. By leveraging PayPal’s extensive merchant network, Venmo offers a versatile payment solution across a wide spectrum of online shopping experiences.

Making an Online Purchase with Venmo

To make an online purchase with Venmo, proceed to the merchant’s checkout. After selecting items, choose Venmo as your payment method, or select PayPal if Venmo is offered as an option through the PayPal gateway. On a desktop computer, a QR code will appear. Scan this QR code using your Venmo app on your mobile device.

For mobile purchases, selecting Venmo redirects you to the Venmo app. Within the app, transaction details, including the amount and merchant, are displayed for review. Confirm the payment, which may require a PIN, fingerprint, or facial recognition. Once authorized in the Venmo app, you are redirected back to the merchant’s website to view the order confirmation.
