What Kind of Receipts Does Fetch Accept?

Maximize your Fetch Rewards! Learn precisely which receipts are accepted, key submission rules, and what to avoid for successful points.

Fetch Rewards provides rewards to users for their everyday purchases. The app rewards users for scanning their shopping receipts. To effectively accumulate rewards, it becomes important for users to understand which types of receipts are eligible for submission and the specific criteria for acceptance.

Accepted Receipt Categories

Fetch Rewards accepts receipts from various types of merchants, allowing users to earn points on diverse purchases. This primarily includes receipts from grocery stores, supermarkets, and club wholesalers, covering most household food and supply needs. Receipts from convenience stores, gas stations that sell convenience items, and pet stores are also generally accepted. The application extends its acceptance to receipts from drugstores, pharmacies, fast-food restaurants, department stores, and hardware stores.

The app also supports receipts from home improvement stores, liquor stores, and general consumer goods retailers. Beyond physical receipts, Fetch Rewards accommodates digital eReceipts from online purchases by allowing users to link their accounts from major retailers such as Amazon, Walmart, Target, and Instacart. These digital submissions require a direct connection for automatic processing. While the type of store determines basic eligibility, the specific items purchased on the receipt often dictate the points earned, particularly for featured brands or special offers.

Receipt Submission Requirements

For a receipt to be processed by Fetch Rewards, certain physical and digital criteria must be met. All receipts, whether physical or digital, need to be clear and legible. Each submission must clearly display the store name, the exact date of purchase, and the total amount spent. Additionally, the individual items purchased should be itemized on the receipt for proper processing.

Physical receipts must be submitted within 14 days of the original purchase date to be eligible for points. For longer paper receipts, users may need to take multiple photos to capture the entire document, ensuring all required details are visible. Digital eReceipts have a longer submission window, generally up to 30 days after the order has been received. These eReceipts must originate from a connected email account and arrive in the primary inbox to be eligible for automatic scanning. Users can submit a maximum of 35 physical receipts within an 8-day rolling period, though eReceipts do not count toward this limit.

Common Receipt Exclusions

Fetch Rewards has specific categories of receipts that are not accepted. Receipts for services, such as car repairs, medical bills, or salon services, are excluded. Utility bills and other non-retail financial transactions, like mortgage payments or bank slips, also do not qualify for points.

The app does not accept return receipts, prescription refill slips, or tickets for events like movies, concerts, or airline travel. Receipts that are handwritten or originate from non-traditional printers are rejected due to legibility and verification concerns. Any receipt missing essential information, such as the store name, purchase date, or total amount, will be declined. Receipts that have been duplicated or altered are not accepted; only original, unaltered receipts are valid for submission. Receipts from purchases made outside the United States and Puerto Rico are explicitly excluded.
