Gross pay encompasses various forms of compensation. The most common components include hourly wages or a fixed annual salary, representing the core compensation for regular work hours. For hourly workers, this is calculated by multiplying the hourly rate by the total hours worked. Salaried employees receive a set amount divided across their pay periods.
