Cash App allows users to manage their money digitally, including the ability to load physical cash onto their accounts. This feature provides a convenient way to add funds without needing a traditional bank account or direct deposit. Understanding where and how to complete these cash loads ensures seamless transactions and effective management of your Cash App balance. This article details retail locations, including gas stations, that offer this service, along with the steps and financial considerations.
Many gas stations and associated convenience stores across the United States participate in the Cash App cash load program. Major chains frequently offering this service include 7-Eleven, Speedway, Kwik Trip, Pilot Travel Centers, GoMart, Sheetz, and Holiday Station. Other common retailers that often have gas station affiliations or are readily available include Walgreens, CVS Pharmacy, Dollar General, and Family Dollar.
To identify the nearest participating location, users can utilize the Cash App’s in-app map feature. By navigating to the “Banking” tab and selecting “Paper Money,” a map will display nearby stores that support cash deposits. While many gas stations offer this service at the main register, larger stores like Walmart, which also offer cash loads, may direct users to a customer service desk or MoneyCenter.
Loading cash onto your Cash App account at a participating gas station or retail location involves a few straightforward steps. Before approaching the cashier, ensure you have your mobile device with the Cash App open and the exact amount of cash you wish to deposit. While some locations might accept a physical Cash App card, the most common method uses a unique barcode generated within the app.
To initiate the process, open your Cash App, tap the “Banking” tab, and then select “Paper Money.” Once at the store, inform the cashier you want to add money to your Cash App by scanning a barcode. You will then tap “Show Barcode” in your app, allowing the cashier to scan it. Hand over the cash amount you intend to deposit, and the funds are added to your Cash App balance instantly. It is advisable to retain the receipt provided by the cashier for your records, and some retailers may request identification for verification purposes.
A flat-rate processing fee of $1 is applied to each paper money deposit, which is automatically deducted from the funds you are loading. However, this fee is waived if you receive $300 or more in paycheck direct deposits to your Cash App each month. You can deposit a minimum of $5 per transaction, with a maximum of $500 per single deposit. Cash App also sets rolling limits for cash deposits: up to $5,000 per 7 days and $10,000 per 30 days. Some individual retailers might also enforce their own minimum deposit requirements, such as $20 for card-swipe deposits.
