What Countries Have Cash App?

Understand Cash App's global presence. Discover where it operates and the scope of its services in different regions.

Cash App is a mobile payment service that facilitates financial transactions directly from a smartphone. It provides users with a straightforward method to send and receive money, effectively acting as a digital wallet. The platform streamlines peer-to-peer transfers, making it convenient for individuals to manage their funds digitally.

Cash App’s Geographic Reach

Cash App is officially available for account creation and general use in two primary countries: the United States and the United Kingdom. Individuals seeking to establish a Cash App account must reside in one of these supported regions. The service is not globally accessible, meaning users in other countries are unable to create accounts or utilize its core functionalities.

Cross-Border Money Transfers

Cash App supports cross-border money transfers exclusively between the United States and the United Kingdom. To facilitate such a transfer, both the sender and the recipient must possess an active Cash App account.
When a payment is initiated from the US to the UK, or vice versa, Cash App automatically converts the currency. This conversion occurs at the mid-market exchange rate prevalent at the time of the transaction, with no additional conversion fees applied by Cash App. This means that a user sending U.S. dollars to a recipient in the United Kingdom will find the funds converted into British Pounds upon receipt. This specific cross-border functionality is confined solely to transactions between these two nations.

Regional Feature Availability

The functionalities offered by Cash App can vary depending on the user’s region, although core features remain consistent. Peer-to-peer payments are a central service available in both the United States and the United Kingdom, allowing for quick transfers between users. The Cash Card, a customizable debit card linked to the Cash App balance, is also available in both countries.

While the Cash App Card can be used for international transactions and ATM withdrawals in most countries globally, a 3% international use fee generally applies. This fee is waived for users who receive $300 or more in paychecks directly deposited into their Cash App account within a calendar month. Other features, such as investing in stocks, buying and selling Bitcoin, direct deposit, and personal loans, are primarily focused on the United States market.
