Cash App provides a convenient way for users to manage their money, including making purchases and withdrawing cash using the associated Cash Card. Understanding the fee structure and how to locate fee-free ATMs is important for users to maximize their financial flexibility.
Cash App integrates an in-app ATM locator feature. Users can access this by navigating to the Cash Card tab and selecting “Find an ATM.” This tool displays a map with nearby in-network ATMs, along with their addresses and operating hours. Enabling location services for the app helps utilize this feature effectively.
Cash App has established partnerships with specific ATM networks, such as Allpoint, to broaden access to fee-free withdrawals. Allpoint boasts a large network of over 55,000 ATMs located in various retail stores, gas stations, and financial institutions globally. When using an ATM within these designated networks, Cash Card users can withdraw funds without incurring Cash App’s fee. Always verify the fee status on the ATM screen before completing any transaction, as circumstances can change.
When withdrawing cash with a Cash Card, users may encounter two distinct types of fees: Cash App’s withdrawal fee and surcharges imposed by the ATM owner. Cash App charges a $2.50 fee for each ATM withdrawal. The ATM operator, especially for machines outside of Cash App’s in-network partners, may levy a separate surcharge, which can vary in amount.
Cash App offers a way to avoid its $2.50 withdrawal fee by meeting a direct deposit requirement. Users who receive $300 or more in qualifying direct deposits into their Cash App account within a calendar month can qualify for unlimited free withdrawals at in-network ATMs. This fee waiver extends until the end of the following calendar month once the direct deposit threshold is met. While Cash App may waive its fee, this benefit does not cover any separate surcharges that an ATM owner might impose.
Performing a cash withdrawal with your Cash Card at an ATM is a straightforward process, similar to using a standard debit card. After inserting your Cash Card into the ATM, you will need to enter your Cash PIN to access your account. When prompted, select the “Checking” account option for the withdrawal, as Cash App does not support withdrawals from savings balances at ATMs. You can then specify the amount you wish to withdraw and confirm the transaction.
Cash App implements limits on ATM withdrawals. Users are limited to withdrawing up to $1,000 per day and $1,000 per week from ATMs using their Cash Card. The monthly ATM withdrawal limit is $1,250. These limits encompass all forms of withdrawals, including ATM transactions and cash-back options at retailers.
