How to Change Your Zip Payment Date and Schedule

Master your finances with Zip. Learn how to effectively manage and adjust your payment schedule to fit your needs.

Zip, formerly known as Quadpay, offers a convenient buy now, pay later service, enabling consumers to split purchases into manageable installments. This financial tool allows individuals to make a purchase immediately and pay for it over a period, typically across four payments spread over six weeks. This structure provides a flexible alternative to traditional credit, aiding in personal cash flow management without accumulating long-term debt.

Understanding Payment Date Adjustments

Adjusting a payment date with Zip involves specific conditions and limitations. Eligibility for a date change generally requires the request to be made at least 24 hours before the original due date. Payment dates cannot be changed if a payment is already due on the current day or if any prior payments on the order have been missed.

Zip typically allows one payment date change per order. The next installment can usually be moved up to seven days later than its original due date. When this change is made, all subsequent installments for that order will automatically adjust to the new schedule. While the initial payment date change within a calendar month is often free, additional changes for other orders in the same month may incur a small fee, commonly around $2, added to your upcoming installment.

If the in-app feature does not offer sufficient flexibility, such as needing to extend a payment beyond the usual seven-day limit, or if you encounter other unique circumstances, contacting Zip’s customer support directly with at least two business days’ notice may provide alternative solutions.

Steps to Adjust a Payment Date

The process for adjusting a payment date within the Zip application is straightforward. To begin, open the Zip application on your mobile device. This is the primary platform for managing your payment plans and making any modifications.

Once inside the app, locate and tap on the “Payments” tab, which might also be labeled as “Orders,” usually found at the bottom of the screen. From the list, select the specific order for which you wish to modify an upcoming payment date.

After selecting the order, you will typically find an option labeled “Move Payment” or “Change Payment Schedule.” Tapping this option allows you to proceed with the adjustment. You can then choose a new desired payment date, keeping in mind the typical extension limit of up to seven days from the original due date. After selecting your preferred new date, review the updated payment schedule and confirm the change.

After Your Payment Date Adjustment

Following a successful payment date adjustment, understand how these changes are reflected and their immediate implications for your account. Upon confirmation within the app, the new payment schedule for your order will be updated and visible. This ensures you have a clear understanding of your revised due dates.

The adjustment of one installment’s date will automatically recalibrate the due dates for all subsequent payments within that order. This integrated approach helps maintain a consistent payment rhythm for your plan. You should also anticipate that your ability to make new purchases through Zip will be temporarily suspended. This account hold remains until the newly scheduled payment has been successfully processed.

Should you notice that the updated payment schedule is not immediately reflected, or if you encounter other issues after attempting a change, reaching out to Zip’s customer support is the appropriate next step. Support can typically be accessed via Messenger within the app, through email, or by phone. Providing them with details of your attempted change and the specific order will assist them in resolving any discrepancies.
