How Old Can Receipts Be for Fetch Rewards?

Navigate Fetch Rewards confidently. Learn the critical criteria for receipt eligibility and submission, ensuring your purchases always earn points.

Fetch Rewards offers a convenient way for consumers to earn points on everyday purchases by simply scanning receipts. This mobile application allows users to accumulate rewards, redeemable for various gift cards. The process involves capturing images of physical receipts or linking online accounts to automatically submit digital purchase records. Understanding the specific criteria for receipt eligibility and the correct submission procedures is important for maximizing the benefits offered by the platform.

Understanding Fetch Receipt Eligibility

Fetch Rewards has specific guidelines regarding the age and content of receipts to ensure they qualify for points. A receipt must be submitted within 14 calendar days of the purchase date to be eligible for points. Receipts older than this period will generally not be accepted.

For a receipt to be valid, it must clearly display several key pieces of information. This includes the store name, the checkout date, and the total amount spent on the transaction. If a physical receipt is particularly long, multiple photos may be required to capture all necessary details, including the full itemized list if applicable.

Fetch Rewards accepts receipts from a wide array of retailers, including:
Grocery stores
Supermarkets
Club wholesalers
Gas stations
Fast-food restaurants
Clothing retailers
Department stores
Pet stores
Hardware stores
Convenience stores
Drugstores

Receipts must be from purchases made by the user themselves; submitting receipts belonging to others is not permitted. Non-retail transactions or purchases like gift cards may not qualify for points.

Submitting Receipts for Points

Once a receipt meets eligibility, the next step involves submitting it through the Fetch Rewards application. For physical paper receipts, users can initiate the process by tapping the camera icon within the app.

The app then activates the device’s camera, prompting the user to position the receipt flat on a non-reflective surface in a well-lit area to ensure clarity. Users should align the receipt’s edges with the on-screen guide and capture the entire document, taking multiple photos if the receipt is long, to include all required information like the store name, date, and total. After the images are captured, the user submits them for processing.

Submitting digital receipts involves linking email accounts or online shopping platforms directly to the Fetch app. Popular platforms like Amazon, Walmart, and Instacart can be connected, allowing Fetch to automatically scan for eligible purchases. Once accounts are linked, users can tap the eReceipt button within the app to initiate a scan of their connected accounts and submit any qualifying digital receipts.

After submission, both physical and digital receipts enter a pending status while the app processes the information. Users are notified once the receipt is approved and points are awarded. When redeeming points for rewards, such as gift cards, the processing time takes up to 72 hours, or approximately three business days, to complete.
