How Much Does a BJ’s Membership Renewal Cost?

Understand BJ's membership renewal costs, options, and what your continued membership offers.

BJ’s Wholesale Club operates as a membership-based warehouse retailer, offering a wide range of products from groceries to electronics at discounted prices. For many households and businesses, a membership provides a way to purchase items in bulk and realize savings on everyday necessities. Understanding the renewal process and the various membership options available is important for members looking to continue accessing these benefits.

Membership Tiers and Associated Costs

BJ’s Wholesale Club offers two primary membership tiers for individuals and families, each with distinct annual costs and benefits. As of January 1, 2025, the standard BJ’s Inner Circle membership costs $60 annually. This tier provides full access to all BJ’s clubs and online shopping opportunities.

The second tier, known as BJ’s Club+, carries an annual fee of $120. This upgraded membership includes all the benefits of the Inner Circle, including 2% cash back on most eligible purchases and a discount of 5 cents per gallon at BJ’s Gas locations. Both membership types include a second card for a household member at no charge.

Methods for Membership Renewal

Renewing a BJ’s membership can be accomplished through several methods. Members can renew online at BJs.com. On the “My Membership” page, a “Renew” button appears if the membership is due to expire within 90 days or has already expired.

Renewal can also be completed in person at any BJ’s Wholesale Club. Members can visit the customer service desk or renew at any register during checkout. This provides an immediate way to extend membership during a regular shopping trip. For mail renewal, notices can be returned with payment directly to BJ’s.

Members can also renew by phone through BJ’s Member Care. BJ’s offers an “Easy Renewal” program, automatically renewing membership annually by charging the current fee to an authorized card on the first day of the expiration month. Members enrolled in Easy Renewal will not see the online renewal option because their membership automatically extends.

Additional Membership Features and Programs

A BJ’s membership provides access to various programs and services that enhance member value. The BJ’s Gas program offers pump savings, with Club+ members receiving a 5-cent per gallon daily discount. Members with a BJ’s One Credit Card save 10 cents per gallon, while BJ’s One+ Credit Card holders receive a 15-cent per gallon discount. The Fuel Saver Program allows members to earn additional cents off per gallon by purchasing specific eligible items, with savings stackable up to 40 gallons or $99 per fill-up.

BJ’s offers branded credit cards, the BJ’s One Mastercard and BJ’s One+ Mastercard, which integrate with membership benefits. The BJ’s One Mastercard, typically for Inner Circle members, provides 3% back in rewards on eligible BJ’s purchases and 1.5% back on purchases made elsewhere. The BJ’s One+ Mastercard, for Club+ members, increases these rewards to 5% back on eligible BJ’s purchases and 2% back everywhere else. Rewards are issued in $10 increments and can be redeemed at checkout in-club or online.

The club features in-house services like the BJ’s Optical Center, offering prescription eyeglasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses. Some locations provide eye exams, making it a convenient stop for vision care. The BJ’s Tire Center provides new tires for various vehicle types and includes installation services like tire rotation, wheel rebalancing, and flat repairs, often with a road hazard warranty.

Members can take advantage of digital tools, including the BJ’s mobile app. The app allows members to clip digital coupons to their membership card, check current gas prices, and track savings or rewards. The app facilitates online shopping, including same-day delivery and in-club pickup, streamlining the shopping experience.
