After manufacturing, the card is prepared for shipping, typically via standard mail services. Standard delivery usually takes five to ten business days. While First-Class Mail aims for one to five business days, the overall arrival time is often closer to seven to ten business days from shipping. Factors such as weekends, public holidays, and geographical distance can influence delivery speed. For an additional fee, many card issuers offer expedited shipping, which can reduce delivery time to one to three business days. This expedited option is frequently available, sometimes at no charge, for replacement cards due to loss or theft.

Receiving and Activating Your Card

Upon arrival of your new bank card, the next step is activation. This is a security measure to ensure the card is received by the intended recipient and to prevent unauthorized use. Common methods for activating a card include calling a toll-free number provided with the card, activating it through your bank’s online banking portal or mobile app, or using an ATM. Activating your card immediately upon receipt is an important security practice.

If your card does not arrive within the expected timeframe, it is advisable to contact your bank’s customer service.
