For those preferring traditional methods, claims can be submitted via mail or fax. When mailing, use certified mail with a return receipt for tracking. Always send copies of your documents, not originals, and keep a set for your personal records. Specific fax numbers or mailing addresses will be provided by your FSA administrator.

After submission, the FSA administrator will review your claim for compliance with IRS guidelines and plan rules. Processing times can vary, ranging from a few business days to a couple of weeks. You will receive confirmation of your claim’s status via email or through your online portal. If documentation is incomplete or further information is needed, the administrator will contact you, which can delay reimbursement. Approved reimbursements are issued via direct deposit to your bank account or by check.
